Welcome back, Mrs. Noodlekugel!

NOODLE&DROOLY_HJ_USComing in May 2015: “Mrs. Noodlekugel and Drooly the Bear”

When their father decides to compete to be speed-knitting champion of the world, Nick and Maxine are happy to stay with their babysitter, Mrs. Noodlekugel, along with her talking cats and four mice who wear glasses. What they don’t expect is a dripping-wet, whiskered man in the kitchen the next morning! Captain Noodlekugel has left his seafaring life to train animals for the circus, and he’s even brought with him a hefty bear named Drooly for practice. But whenever he tries to teach Drooly to dance, the bear wobbles and falls asleep on the tulips. When Drooly goes missing, the siblings must try to figure out where a big clumsy bear might go!

You can pre-order the book from the publisher, Random House.

What’s new on the Pinkwater Podcast?

downloadWell, for starters, last week we aired a never-before-heard and previously unpublished story by Daniel, called “Kat Hats.” You should listen to it. Also, we’ve started serializing “Adventures of a Cat-Whiskered Girl,” Daniel’s recent novel about Big Audrey, a lovely gal from another plane of existence who just happens to have whiskers.

Pinkwater fan Shaenon Garrity has some delightful fan art to celebrate the enticing preview of Daniel’s latest book on Twitter.

Is Daniel Pinkwater publishing a book one tweet at a time?

Some say I am. I am saying nothing. However, if I am it means someone
has found a use for Twitter.

New book: “Mrs. Noodlekugel and Four Blind Mice”

From Jennifer Laughran:

Nick and Maxine and their babysitter Mrs Noodlekugel (along with, of course, her cat butler and four magical mice) are back! The first MRS NOODLEKUGEL adventure is now available in paperback, and as of today, there is a brand-new installment in the series: MRS NOODLEKUGEL AND FOUR BLIND MICE.

Four farsighted mice get glasses — and a talking cat solves a family mystery — as the charmingly eccentric Mrs. Noodlekugel returns… It’s all a day in the life of Daniel Pinkwater’s whimsical characters, in a chapter-book series whose comical tone and cozy illustrations are sure to keep young readers coming back for more.
